Small Group Rome Shore Excursion Tour

Arriving in Rome by cruise ship? For those who want to see the highlights of Rome without being stuck on a bus tour with hundreds of people, our new Civitavecchia-Rome Semi private Rome in a Day Tour may be the perfect solution for you. With the cruise ship sponsored shore excursion tours in Rome by bus, from boarding and getting off the bus, waiting for tickets, waiting while others use the restroom, etc, you tend to spend too much time waiting around and too little time touring the sites of Rome.
Our Promise:
No hidden costs - Avoid the lines - English speaking guides - Personalized assistance - Free Rome orientation & maps at our office - Original articles & top stories from Italy
With just one short day in Rome, there is so much to see and so little time! With this tour for a maximum of 10 people, it makes it possible to see all the most important sites in Rome efficiently and without getting lost in the shuffle.

Our luxury van and driver will meet you at the port as you disembark from your cruise ship, holding a sign with your name on it. He will drive you to Rome where your official When In Rome Tour guide will be waiting for you to begin the tour. You will begin a guided walking tour in English of the Colosseum (we normally recommend visiting it from outside in the interest of time, although a visit inside is possible upon request), Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia, and the Trevi Fountain. At this point we take a short break for lunch at a typical Roman trattoria where service is fast, prices are moderate, and Roman food is excellent.

After lunch we will call on a taxi transfer to take us to the Vatican for our tour of the Vatican Museums. After a guided tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, we will exit into St. Peter's for a short tour inside the Basilica before leaving the Vatican. You will have a few moments to shop for postcards or Vatican souvenirs or to have a drink and/or snack before meeting your driver for the return trip to Rome.
What you'll see: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, Coliseum, Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia, Trevi Fountain
A tour of this nature requires approximately 7 hours, plus 2.5/3 hours transport time from and back to the port.
This tour is organized using two one way transfers as follows:
1) approx. 7:30 AM from Civitavecchia port to Rome (arriving by 9:30 AM)
2) approx. 4:00 PM From Rome to Civitavecchia port (arriving by 5:30 PM)
