Overview

“Best of Rome & Vatican” is a journey through Rome of the Caesars and all the highlights inside the Vatican Museums! This is THE must-do tour in Italy at a super-low price!

Enter the Coliseum and learn about the making of a gladiator and what the games meant to the Romans, then walk up ancient Via Sacra into the Roman Forum. Rich in history, archaeology, and mythology, your guide will bring the ancient city back to life, demonstrating how the Roman Empire became so powerful and the complex chain of events which led to it’s decline.

In the afternoon you will walk past the queue straight into the Vatican Museums and see all the major works of art by masters such as Perugino, Giotto, Rafael and of course Michelangelo. Time inside the magnificent Sistine Chapel is the absolute highlight.

On St. Peter’s Square your guide will relate the origins of the Vatican City State and Swiss Guard. At the end of the tour you will be free to visit the Basilica of St. Peter and see Michelangelo’s beautiful Pieta’, Dome, and Baldacchino.

Meeting point info will be sent in booking confirmation e-mail. For security reasons, backpacks, rucksacks, large handbags, luggage etc. are banned inside the Coliseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill.

Before e-mailing us about availability and cost, please read this page.

Lovely day in Rome

Good afternoon. I just finished a Vatican tour with Giuliano. I have had the good fortune of travelling much of the world and many tours. BY FAR, no tour guide has ever been as passionate, articulate, interesting and knowledgeable as Giuliano. Thank you!!! I truly believe he should be doing these tours as a TV host on BBC so millions more could learn and enjoy from him.

Fantastic Guide

Christina from USA was our guide on this tour. She was fantastic. She told and showed us everything there is to know about this fantastic and historical place. She had a charming, personal and open style. If there is something we do not know about this place, it is our own fault. Absolute full house in rating.
