WHEN IN ROME PACKAGE

Made our experience of Rome come to life

We booked the When in Rome package which included transfers from the airport to our hotel. Even though our flight was 40 minutes late we still found our driver awaiting us no problem. We were also picked up on return on time too. Our first tour was of Ancient Rome - colleseum, Pantheon, forum, Trevi fountain etc. The tour was a 4hour walking tour but we saw so much and learnt loads from our tour guide Sarah. Without the tour we would have missed so much information. The only downfall of this was it might have been enter to end the tour in the forum so we could have walked around this area ourselves afterwards. The second tour we did was the Vaticantour. Our guide was Chiara. She was extremely informative and amusing. She was so enthusiastic and despite not being art enthusiasts we learnt so much from her. The only downfall was that it was new years eve and the Sistine Chapel and St Peters chapel were being closed early. As these are at the end of the tour we spent less than 5 minutes in the Sistine chapel in a rush to get into the church. In the church we had perhaps 30 minutes and did not have time to see the catacombs as these were also closed. I completely understand this was not the tour guides fault however it would have been helpful when making the booking had we been warned this could happen due to the date so we could have picked another date. Overall I would highly recommend When In Rome Tours for their informative guides and helping to make Rome feel alive!
