We took the 2 in 1 Vatican and Entire Colosseum trip and it was one of the best decisions we took. The tour proved out to be very informative and helpful and to top it all utilize our time in Rome effectively. Our tour guide was Christine who was well experienced in Roman and Vatican history and provided us with valuable information throughout the tour. On the second part was Martine who also kept us entertained with her information on Roman Forum and the Colosseum. All in all 5 stars for this tour and I highly recommend both the guides and tour overall.
I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see as much of Rome as they possibly can! We had a very small group and Kierra was an amazing tour guide. She was so informative and would answer any of our questions. The best part was the books she had. I loved the Rome one so much I bought one after the tour! The Vatican was also really cool to see. The Sistine Chapel was amazing along with the other paintings there.

Signed up to do the Colosseum tour and was so glad! This is my second tour and by far my favourite. Chiara was our tour guide and was absolutley amazing and very knowledgeable. She spoke very good english and was up beat and cracked jokes. Wish I had of booked the Colosseum and city centre tour I would have loved walking around Rome with her! Anyone thinking of doing this tour well worth it! Highly recommended! Thanks again Chiara!
We didn't get to see the underground but for the low price we paid it was fair. As I understand,... Read about the tour
There are plenty of private tours on offer in Rome, some more specific than others. We just wanted a full day with our own expert guides who are from Rome. I am happy to report that When in Rome Tours delivered on all counts. We had a complete and fulfilling day in every way.

Excellent tour, Chiara sure knows her stuff, so much so that we were somewhat mentally exhausted at the end but in a good way! Can't recommend this experience highly enough especially if your interest is Roman Baroque architecture.

Rather than booking on to a join in walking tour with a dozen other people, we really hit the bullseye with this and When in Rome Tours! As a family we collectively believe that we could not have spent better quality time in Rome than with the very great guides Luigi and Chiara. We learned ALOT and visited all the greatest places to see in Rome. Thanks guys!

We booked the When in Rome package which included transfers from the airport to our hotel. Even though our flight was 40 minutes late we still found our driver awaiting us no problem. We were also picked up on return on time too. Our first tour was of Ancient Rome - colleseum, Pantheon, forum, Trevi fountain etc. The tour was a 4hour walking tour but we saw so much and learnt loads from our tour guide Sarah. Without the tour we would have missed so much information. The only downfall of this was it might have been enter to end the tour in the forum so we could have walked around this area ourselves afterwards. The second tour we did was the Vaticantour. Our guide was Chiara. She was extremely informative and amusing. She was so enthusiastic and despite not being art enthusiasts we learnt so much from her. The only downfall was that it was new years eve and the Sistine Chapel and St Peters chapel were being closed early. As these are at the end of the tour we spent less than 5 minutes in the Sistine chapel in a rush to get into the church. In the church we had perhaps 30 minutes and did not have time to see the catacombs as these were also closed. I completely understand this was not the tour guides fault however it would have been helpful when making the booking had we been warned this could happen due to the date so we could have picked another date. Overall I would highly recommend When In Rome Tours for their informative guides and helping to make Rome feel alive!

For the evening walk to all the places of historical interest in Rome we were met by a friendly guide from the UK who was very keen to show us all possible within the given time frame which was in the end a bit over 2 hours. Immediately after this tour we were taken to a lovely spot for wine tasting and half a dozen bites to eat, wine pairing, if you will. Wonderful.

Great tour, lots of new discoveries and knowledgeable entertaining guide
It was a great tour of the various culinary delights of Rome. Our guide Giuliano led us on an entertaining tour in localities that we alone would not have found. We tasted smoothies, pizza, espresso, pasta and gelato in small original Roman family shops. For lovers of traditional Italian cuisine! A Tip: Good English skills are an advantage.

This was a good experience for us, the Colosseum and ancient Rome part was quite early morning, leaving us all late morning, lunch, and afternoon to do as we wanted before returning to the exact same meeting point in the evening for our walk through the squares of historic Rome. Good tour, we recommend!

We had just 6 hours in between flights and decided to head into the city from FCO and take a tour! It had to be quick, maximum 2 or 2.5 hours, so we chose this one, Ancient Rome in 2 hours. Despite some jet lag and the minor stress of an upcoming flight we were eased into this ancient Rome experience by a wonderful guide called Chiara who met us right on time and showed us more than we ever thought possible. Thank you!
